How to test responsive website directly from Google Chrome
Learn how to test responsive website directly from Google Chrome browser, thanks to the new mobile resource on Chrome Developer Tools.
In the mobile devices era, getting the website ready for different screen sizes is an essential practice. A common solution for this is responsive design, which fits the content for smartphones’, tablets’ and computers’ screens.
For helping those who build responsive websites, Google added a new function to its Chrome Developer Tools: it simulates different screen sizes directly from Chrome browser. You can choose between pre-defined models, such as iPhone, iPad and Galaxy, or customize the size, as you like.
There are two ways to access the tool: once opened the page you are going to test, press “F12” or click the right button and press “Inspect element”. Then just click on the phone icon on the left and perform the tests. After selecting the option, refresh the page by pressing “F5”.
